General Provisions regulating entry and participation in the classic regularity event 2019 “Coppa Milano-Sanremo”.
Introduction: The Automobile Club of Milan—which was the organiser from 1906 to 1973—promotes and sponsors the Historic Revival Coppa Milano-Sanremo. Equipe International S.r.l promotes and organises the Historic Revival Coppa Milano-Sanremo. Unless otherwise stated, the General ACI-Sport Rules will be govern the event and are hereby incorporated.
Art. 1- Event and date: Equipe International S.r.l (hereinafter known as “Equipe International” and/or “the Organiser”), in cooperation with “ASD Altomonferrato – Club della Ruggine” (ACI Sport license n. 29698) organises the regularity event for classic cars called “Rievocazione Storica Coppa Milano – Sanremo” (hereinafter known as the “Event”). The Event is promoted by the Automobile Club of Milan. The 2019 Event will take place from the 4th to the 6th April 2019. Unless otherwise specified, the ACI-Sport regulations shall apply.
Art. 2 – Characteristics of the Event: touring, sporting and cultural event on the ACI-Sport calendar: classic regularity race for classic cars. The event is under the aegis of ACI-Sport and ASI.
Art. 3 – Preliminary and definitive programmes: by preliminary programmes, it is intended any details that are still being finalized both in terms of facilities to be used, as well as locations and routes. Equipe International, therefore, commits to keeping the venues and services indicated in the final programmes. However, in the event of the unavailability of one or more services or venues, for reasons outside the control of Equipe International, the Organiser reserves the right to replace them with services and venues of equal quality.
Art. 4 – Classic regularity event for classic cars: the “Rievocazione Storica della Coppa Milano-Sanremo” is a national classic regularity event for modern and classic vehicles, also open to foreign participants, and classified as a “Superclassica”.
The Event will start on Thursday 4th April 2019 with administrative and technical checks at “Autodromo Nazionale di Monza”. The race course will be divided into 2 stages: the first stage starting on Friday 5th April 2019 from Milan to Rapallo, and the second starting on Saturday 6th April 2019 from Rapallo to Monte Carlo.
The Event will be governed by the regulations of the ACI-Sport: for all the other aspects of the event, please refer to the RPG. An overall ranking and additional rankings for groups selected according to age and other criteria will be as described below. Timekeeping will be provided by Crono Car Service; Time Controls, Regularity Section Controls and time measurements will be obtained through pressure switches and recording equipment. The ACI-Sport Regulations regarding chronometry shall apply.
Art. 5 – Vehicles admitted: Admission is open to all classic cars from any country, manufactured between 1906 and 1976, provided they may be operated safely and that they faithfully represent the original model. The vehicles must also have registration documents, license plates or appropriate circulation permits as well as liability insurance to cover the risk of damage caused to third-parties by the participant’s vehicle during the Event. Admission priority shall be given to pre-war and sports cars, one-offs, or special models, or vehicles with historical significance. However, all conditions being equal, the main criteria for admission shall be the chronological order of registration. Cars must be accompanied with one of the following valid sports papers:
In the selection process for the purpose of admission to the event, a Selection Committee will autonomously decide which cars will be admitted on the basis of criteria that favour a variety of models, their representativeness of the model years to which they belong and the nationality of the registration plates. The decisions of the committee are final. Once admitted, the enrolled car may not be substituted, unless a different decision from the Selection Committee based on valid and proved reasons.
Art 6 – Drivers, Co-drivers and Passengers: for each car, a crew of one or two people may be registered (one as the driver and one as a navigator). The driver (and the navigator, if they intend to alternate as a driver) must hold a valid ACI-Sport license, or a regularity race license. All foreign drivers and co-drivers/navigators that do not have one of the documents mentioned may be issued with a temporary Automobile Club Italia temporary Event competitor license valid only for the Coppa Milano-Sanremo provided they are in possession of a medical certificate of good health.
Only valid drivers-license holders may drive cars in the race.
Art. 7 – Entry fee: the participation fee is € 3.000,00 + 22% VAT (if applicable) = €3.660,00 per team, which includes the right to take part in the event, standard double hotel room, lunches and dinners from Thursday 4th April to Saturday 6th April, participation kit, badges, surveillance of the vehicle during event days and eventual gifts offered by the sponsors.
Art. 8 – Additional services (not included in the fee): TO BE DEFINED
Art. 9 – Entry applications: Entry applications for the Event will open as soon as these general provisions are published and shall be deemed closed on the 28th of February 2019. Applicants must fill in the Entry Form available on the website www.milano-sanremo.it.
Payment of the full fee as a deposit must be made with the application. By the 1st of March 2019, the Organising Committee will inform applicants as to whether or not their cars have been admitted. Should the application not be accepted, the full amount paid (minus bank handling fees) shall be refunded. Entry applications will be considered valid only if payment of the deposit has been made through a wire-transfer to:

If the vehicle has any special permits or authorisations, these should be attached to the application. Invoices may be issued to groups or to individuals.
Art. 10 – Fee disputes: the entry fee includes the costs of many factors not specifically listed such as suppliers’ costs, overall coordination of activities, Event and pre-Event management, advertising, printing and distribution of programmes, etc. Therefore, after the Event has taken place, the organisation will not—under any circumstances—consider any protests regarding entry fees, as those fees were considered fair and reasonable at the time of registration based on the quality, quantity, and types of services and amenities offered.
Art. 11 – Withdrawal: partial or total cancellation of participation in the Event must be communicated to Equipe International S.r.l. by the participant in writing. For communications received after the 1st of March 2019, the penalty for cancellation will be 100% of the total fee.
For communications received before that date, the penalty for cancellation will be 50% of the total fee. Therefore, as of 1st of March, 2019, no reimbursement will be made to those who fail to show up for the start of the Event or withdraw during the Event itself. Likewise, no reimbursement will be made to those who are unable to physically take part in the Event due to lack of, invalidity, or inadequacy of the required personal or vehicle documents, as well as the lack of same for eventual expatriation. One substitution per team will be accepted providing that the Organiser is notified before the morning of Thursday 4th April 2019 and there are no compelling reasons and / or organizational problems for accommodations other than those planned.
Art. 12 – Cancellation and/or postponement of the event: In the event of cancellation or postponement, the Organisation will timely inform all participants in writing. If the event is cancelled completely, the Organisation will refund the total amount paid by participants. Participants may claim no form of compensation for damages and/or indemnity deriving from the cancellation or postponement of the event.
Art. 13 – Strikes – natural disasters – adverse weather conditions – civil and military disorder – uprisings – acts of terrorism: these and similar events constitute a force majeure event and cannot be attributed to the Organisation. Any additional expenses incurred by participants will not be reimbursed, nor will the cost of any paid-up services that may be negatively impacted by these types of events, except for cases that potentially fall within the insurance guarantee prearranged by the Organisation.
Art. 14 – Personal data protection: in accordance with Italian laws governing the protection of personal data, each participant’s name is entered in a database owned by Equipe International. The Organiser, or companies engaged by the same, may use such data to send (via post, telephone, or electronic transmission) informational material about their own activities or publicity material exclusively related to sponsors and/or partners associated with Equipe International. Italian law provides that clients or anyone else whose data is stored in Equipe International’s database may, at any time, access their data, request its modification or cancellation, or oppose its use by sending a request via registered mail to Equipe International S.r.l., Corso Sempione 30, 20154 Milan (Italy).
Art. 15 – Informative and/or supplementary communications: the Organisation reserves the right to inform all applicants of any changes, or amendments, to these general provisions, or to the programmes, as well as provide information or clarifications to improve their interpretation.
Art. 16 – Sponsors and/or partners: during the Event, sponsors may be given space in the programme to promote their products and/or services. Sponsors may involve participants with games and prize drawings. Sponsorship methods may include the distribution of promotional material or the placement of the company brand on signs and numbered stickers, which must be visible at all times during the Event.
Art. 17 – “Coppa Milano-Sanremo” trademarks, distinguishing symbols, industrial property rights, copyright, and third-party services offered via the website or via links to specific third-party websites: Any registered user and/or participant personally—and on behalf of drivers and/or co-drivers and/or crews and/or co-registered guests or co-participants—explicitly agrees that they have no claim to the property or licencing rights of the “Coppa Milano-Sanremo” registered trademarks and logos, nor any authorisation for their use in any form what-so-ever. Furthermore, personally and on the behalf of their drivers and/or co-drivers and/or crews, registered members and/or participants explicitly agree to not register or use names, trademarks, or other distinguishing symbols in combination with the names or registered trademarks of the “Coppa Milano-Sanremo” and/or in any case, in such a manner that may cause graphical confusion with those of the “Coppa Milano-Sanremo”
Ownership and copyrights related to the website www.milano-sanremo.it (including, but not limited to, every image, photograph, animation, video, audio, music, or text integrated within the site or any included material) are the property of Equipe International S.r.l., and are protected by copyright laws and by international treaty provisions. Users may not copy nor reproduce the content of the site. Some of the services offered on the website www.milano-sanremo.it may include third-party material or links to specific third-party websites. Users understand and accept that Equipe International S.r.l. and the Automobile Club of Milan cannot be held responsible for reviewing or evaluating the content or the accuracy of these third-party materials or websites. Equipe International S.r.l. neither guarantees, nor endorses, nor accepts any responsibility for third-party materials or websites, or for other materials, products, or services from third parties. Users agree that they will not use third-party materials in any way that might infringe upon, or violate, the rights of third parties, and that Equipe International S.r.l. will be held harmless for any such use.
Art. 18 – Acquisition of photos and/or audio-visual footage and transfer of the relevant rights: all participants – registered directly and/or via third parties – hereby authorize Equipe International S.r.l. and/or its representatives to take photos and/or audio-visual footage (hereinafter the Contents) of their vehicle/s and/or property and/or logo/s and/or trademark/s during and during the Event. Participants – whether registered directly and/or via third parties – hereby accept to transfer to Equipe International S.r.l, any usage rights – including commercial – that Equipe International S.r.l. and/or its representative may acquire during the Event, free of charge and without limitations. The above-mentioned transfer includes the right to keep, commercially exploit and transfer the Contents to third parties with no time limitations, as well to disclose partially or integrally the same, including post-editing procedures, via any means including, but not limited to, catalogues, magazines, books etc. and/or any archiving and/or transmission system currently available, including but not limited to: TV, radio, internet, telecommunications, analogue/digital systems, online and offline systems etc., and/or invented in the near future, with no territorial or transfer limitations, in perpetuity. Each participant—registered directly and/or via third parties— will indemnify and hold Equipe International S.r.l. and/or its assignees harmless from any third-party claim for use of the Contents.
Art. 19 – Waiver of responsibility and indemnity: for surveillance of the competing vehicles during the overnight hours of the 4th, 5th, and 6th of April, 2019, Equipe International S.r.l. will hire a reputable surveillance company. In accordance with article 124 of the Italian private Insurance code the Organiser has stipulated an appropriate insurance policy for civil liability relative to sports events and competitions and in addition, for civil liability towards third parties, to cover the liability of the organiser and other bound parties for damages caused to people, animals or objects. Damages caused by participants and their vehicles are excluded and as a result the participants are hereby informed and accept the fact that they must stipulate an appropriate insurance policy, which complies with current laws.
The participant also agrees that the Automobile Club d’Italia, ACI-Sport, the Organiser and its employees, the staff of Automobile Club involved in the race, the race Officers and owners of the routes where the event takes place shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever for any damages the drivers, navigators, or their employees or agents, or possessions may suffer or cause to third-parties or the possessions of any participant, driver, navigator, or employees or agents of same. Likewise, the participant agrees that the Organizer will not be held liable for theft and / or fire and / or other damage the participant’s vehicle may suffer during the course of the Event and agrees to exonerate and hold the Organizer and ‘Automobile Club of Milan harmless for any and all liability for fire and / or theft and / or damage and / or any damage that to the vehicle during the entire duration of the Event and to waive on behalf of themselves, their heirs or assignees any attempt to make a claim against Equipe International S.r.l. and the Automobile Club of Milan arising from and related to any accident that may occur during the Event.
Art. 20 – Applicable laws: these General Provisions are regulated and interpreted in accordance with Italian Law.
Art. 21 – Exclusive jurisdiction: The Court of Milan shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute related to the interpretation and/or execution of these General Provisions.
Art. 22 – Arbitration Clause: By registering each participant declares for themselves, for their drivers, their passengers and for their representatives, that they understand and accept the Event Regulations and agree to waive the right to apply for redress for any reason to arbitrators and courts for facts deriving from the organization and the evolution of the Event. Each participant agrees to hold harmless ACI-Sport, ACI, FIVA and ASI and all the authorities or associations that collaborate or support the Event, all the authorities owning or managing the venues involved, as well as the organisers, Equipe International S.r.l., its employees or agents, from any responsibility for any damages to themselves, their passengers or their employees or for any damages made by or caused to third-parties or third-parties’ possessions during the Event.
